Welcome to the Guelph Humane Society
The Guelph Humane Society’s mission is to promote the welfare of all animals and prevent cruelty and suffering.
We are a registered charitable organization; it does not receive any government funding and exists solely on private funding and public donations.
Please note that our building remains closed to the public at this time.
We are assessing our new space to see how many people we can allow into the facility, in accordance with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph (WDG) Public Health standards.
For now, here is how we will continue servicing our community…
Adoption and surrenders will be available by appointment. Our retail sales are now open for curbside pick-up, please call 519-824-3091 to place your order. All payments, whenever possible, will be done via phone for contactless pick-up. Overall, please be patient, as we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes for our Reception Team. If you must enter the building to perform an essential service, you are required to wear a mask and sanitize prior to entering the building. You must also complete our online COVID-19 Screening Form.
Even though we are unable to have you drop-in to visit our available animals, we are still doing what we do best–providing care and protection to all animals.
Please rest assured that we have a very dedicated team that will ensure the health and well-being of animals in our care. We are also placing most animals into dedicated foster homes. As always, we remain committed to ensuring all animals in our community are cared for and protected.
Questions? Call us at 519-824-3091 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Contactless adoptions have been going very well. During COVID-19, we have found #HappyTails for hundreds of animals (and counting)! They are now in loving homes living their best life.
Our virtual and/or phone adoption meetings will continue by appointment only. Please visit our Available Animals webpage to view all of our animals available for adoption and to view our contactless adoption process. If you see an animal you like, that would be a good match for your family/home, follow this process to bring home your new furry family member.
Even though GHS will remain closed, our essential services to the community are still active every day (Services webpage):
We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for animal emergencies.
We are available to provide emergency boarding to pets, especially if an owner is being hospitalized, evicted, or arrested.
We will help any lost pets in the community and continue efforts to reunite pets with their owners as quickly as possible.
Should you be unable to care for your pet, we remain available to bring pets into our care (prioritizing urgent cases).
Contactless and virtual adoptions for all available animals.
We are here to assist the community with injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife.
Retail purchases of select Royal Canin products available for curbside pick-up and purchase via phone.
