Our Mission

We are veterinarians and vet support staff  from South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital, in Burnaby B.C.

Twice a year, the staff travel to Mexico to volunteer at a 4 day spay/neuter clinic in Guayabitos, Mexico. The project is run by JBAR (Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue) and has been in existance since 2007. Since it's inception, JBAR has spayed and neutered over 9,000 animals.  When we return to Vancouver in April and November each year, we take the opportunity to bring with us a few animals that are suitable for adoption in Canada.

The dogs are thoroughly checked over for health issues. All are spayed/neutered, dewormed, treated for all parasites and vaccines are up to date.

Generally the dogs we bring back for adoption are well socialized and young, and have a lovely spirit about them. They make great family pets!
