Willow's Story
WILLOW- Est. 22 year-old 11.2hh pony mare - companion/pasture pet only

Willow is an owner surrender who came to HRU in November 2020. She had a large salivary stone in her face removed after coming into our care.

On rare occasions, Willow needs her mouth emptied by a volunteer or veterinarian since feed can build up in the pocket. We only feed her soft treats to reduce the build-up.

When Willow first came to HRU, she was wild and would sometimes rear or even flip herself backwards from fear. Thanks to the work of HRU’s dedicated volunteers, she is now very easy to handle and loves to go on handgrazing walks around the property. Willow still needs to be approached with a soft tone for reassurance.

HRU volunteers witnessed Willow having a few seizures early in her time with us, but it's been several years since anyone has observed her having a seizure.

Willow prefers a 24/7 turnout set-up and currently shares a field with Trixie. This kind little mare makes a great companion/pasture pet to minis, ponies or full-size horses alike.

Asking $100 donation to an approved home with contract with a minimum 60 day trial period. Adopter must be located within a three (3) hour drive of Wall, NJ. For more information, please email lunar_aradia@yahoo.com.
