He is curious, playful, and always ready for an adventure. He gets along well with other horses, loves to ride out and explore, trailers easily, ties like a champ, and stands quietly for the farrier. He has grown into a confident, connected, and genuinely playful pony. Wellington has experience on the ground, in hand, at liberty, and lightly under saddle. He is being developed with the principles of French Classical Dressage and is building a foundation in Working Equitation, having already been introduced to many of its concepts and obstacles. Despite his young age, he has begun learning yields and lateral movements such as turns on the forehand/haunches, reinback, leg yield, shoulder-in, counter shoulder-in, travers, and renvers. Wellington shows potential in Hunters, Dressage, Working Equitation, Ranch Riding, or as a pleasure riding/trail partner. As he matures, he could specialize or become an excellent, safe all-around children’s mount. He will continue developing in the months ahead and will be offered for adoption when he is ready to shine in the right home. follow his progress at #hopteamwellington

Horses are typically located in the Appalachian area, but please inquire about a horse's specific location when you apply!

We are looking to adopt to safe homes.

A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first-time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.

Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.

Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no-fail process for finding the right match.

Apply at https://www.wvhorserescue.org/adopt
PLEASE NOTE: THE INQUIRY FORM ON THIS PAGE IS NOT THE HEART OF PHOENIX ADOPTION APPLICATION
