Tardy's Story
CURRENT RIDER LEVEL: Confident Beginner

Tardy is a 2002 Quarter Horse mare who stands at 14.3 hands tall and weighs 1,064lbs.
Tardy is a nice mare who gets along with the senior mares and geldings she's turned out with. Tardy is an older mare that requires quality grain, hay and alfalfa mash to stay healthy. Tardy can be pushy when leading and need to be corrected occasionally. Tardy loves to be groomed, she enjoys the attention so much she stands perfectly still. She also stands quietly for tacking and mounting. Tardy will shake her head with a bit, but she rides great in a hackamore. She is easy to stop and turn and she is tolerant of unbalanced riders making her perfect for beginners and children. She has a smooth trot but she lacks conditioning and isn't ready to canter. Tardy does have a mild swayback that is easily corrected with a thick pad. Tardy's favorite place is out on trails! She will confidently lead the way or follow behind and she isn't spooky at all. Tardy is tender footed in the front and would benefit from shoes and pads if she's is going to be out on trails or ridden on hard ground. She would be best matched with a family who doesn't mind the extra care she requires to hold her weight and is looking to do some light riding around their farm.

To get approved, please complete a lifetime lease application and email it to info@wyhumane.org
Include with your completed application, pictures of your property including your barn, stall, or run-in shed, pasture, water source, and fencing both close up and a corner picture.

Links to the application and our policies.
