Shy's Story

PASTURE PET ONLY

Shy is a 2008 Throughbred gelding who stands at 16 hands tall and weighs 1,168 lbs. Too Shy Shy (Shy) is an off the track thoroughbred that came to us having been a broodmare most of her life before being brought to us. Shy is exactly as her name suggests. She is docile in the pasture and she took a while to settle into a herd here. After she settled in Shy became friendly and approachable in the pasture making her easy to catch. Shy is a loving mare who enjoys human interaction. She will stand tied but if she is left standing alone for too long she has pulled back once here. Shy does move a little for grooming but with reminders, she will stand quietly. Sadly Shy isn't sound to ride. She has arthritis in her back left hock that causes pain and lameness that is most noticeable under saddle. Shy may not be able to take a rider anymore but she is wonderful companion to other equines and people too. If you can offer this lovely horse a pasture to call home, she is here waiting for you!

To get approved, please complete a lifetime lease application and email it to info@wyhumane.org
Include with your completed application, pictures of your property including your barn, stall, or run-in shed, pasture, water source, and fencing both close up and a corner picture.

Links to the application and our policies.
