Rex's Story

PASTURE PET ONLY

Rex is a 2004 Mule who stands at 12.2 hands tall and weighs 652 lbs.
Rex is a hesitant but inquisitive gelding. He loves living on full turnout and hes very social with the other equines he shares a pasture with. Rex is watchful and vocal, he is the first to alert when someone new pulls up the driveway and he calls for his friends when its feeding time. Rex will happily approach people for treats and he has gotten much better about leading and standing to be groomed. Rex will sometimes bolt in hand when he gets scared but he has been improving. Rex's most troublesome issue is his fear and distrust of the farrier or anyone trying to pick up his feet. We are continuing to work with Rex and he has gotten much better with his fronts but he will need to be heavily sedated and secured to successfully trim his back hooves. Rex is available as a pasture pet and companion to other equines. He would be best matched with someone who has prior mule or donkey experience.

To get approved, please complete a lifetime lease application and email it to info@wyhumane.org
Include with your completed application, pictures of your property including your barn, stall, or run-in shed, pasture, water source, and fencing both close up and a corner picture.

Links to the application and our policies.
