PRINCE GEORGE's Story
Prince George is a charming and spirited horse who came to Longmeadow at the end of 2024. Due to his age, this older gelding had a bit of a difficult transition from his previous home to the Ranch. After his routine quarantine ended, he was able to come up to the big barns and be evaluated by our trainers! Upon evaluation, our trainers found this handsome man to have had lots of previous training under saddle. George was responsive to neck reins, making him easy to guide. He is more of a kick ride, meaning he requires a bit of encouragement to get moving, but once he’s going, he’s a steady partner.

Though he can be opinionated on the ground, he will quickly shape up after being corrected by a confident handler. Here at Longmeadow, Prince George has been ridden by a 10-year-old lesson student and was very well-behaved, so he could be a great fit for children who have had some previous riding experience.

Prince George stands well for the vets and the farrier. He tends to be towards the bottom of the pecking order in a herd and gets along well with other equine. After spending some time with P. George, we also found that he enjoyed his time spent outside far more than in a stall. He does best when he has a daily routine and some equine friends around out in the fresh air. Adoption Fee: $500 Height: Coming Soon! Maximum Carrying Weight (includes tack and rider): 185lbs
