PRALINE's Story
Praline came to us, malnourished and suffering from external parasites. Like most of the horses who are rescued and brought to Longmeadow, she needed vet and farrier care. We started Praline on a strict refeeding diet, as we did with the three other mares she came in with, and before we knew it, she had gained all of her weight back! Praline did arrive with a small growth, which our vet removed and tested. The growth was cancerous and although it was removed, a future adopter will need to check the area every couple of months. As soon as she was up to date on the rest of her medical care, our trainer began her evaluation. Praline was evaluated as a riding horse and put into the training program but she has a strong tendancy to buck. Since her past is unknown and her explosions have been unpredictable and dangerous, we decided to make her available as a non-riding horse. She gets along with every horse she is living with and is easy to catch in the pasture. We think she will make a great pasture buddy for another equine. Praline is an easy keeper and requires a dry lot to limit her pasture grazing or a grazing muzzle if living in a pasture. Height:14.3hh Adoption Fee: $400
