Nyssa's Story
Nyssa
2011
Grade Paint
Tri-Color Paint
Mare
15.0hh

FEE: $1500

TRAINING: She has spent some time in training at Rockin' H Farms and has had a lot of exposure to new things. She has been working cattle and is not afraid to push up on one. She has sorted, penned, pushed cattle at stockyards, and played around with tracking a dummy. Nyssa has been on quite a few trail rides and weekend camping trips. She does really well and isn't scared of much of anything.

This mare is such a pretty mover! She has an awesome trot and she makes it look so easy and elegant. She has a nice lope but is currently working on shortening it up and collecting while in a lope. When she is finished she could have western show potential.

She is not 100% one-hand neck reined at this time but is starting to work really well of off leg and seat cues. You still have to push and pull from time to time. This mare has a big stop on her as well. She will transition from a w/t/c pretty easily.

Nyssa will load in a stock or slant trailer, hard ties, saddles with ease, stands for grooming, bathes, and behaves for the farrier.

Nyssa will need an adopter that rides with a lose rein and soft hands as she’s most relaxed and comfortable with a rider who is soft. This is a very important detail. She has had many different styles of riders while being in training and we have seen the difference from a rider with soft hands to a rider with a little bit of “hard” or “heavy” hands she is more alert, reactive, and sensitive.

For a short video of Nyssa go to: https://www.facebook.com/HeartofPhoenixEquinerescue/videos/624510835359858

Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check us on most current fee. Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs.

We are looking to adopt to safe homes.

A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.
Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.

Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match.
