Nova's Story

Nova is approximately 13 years old. We were told she is well-bred, originally from an Arab breeder on Whidbey Island, but have not been able to track down any solid information. This sweet, beautiful mare loves attention and is the first to come up to you in the paddock. She is the lowest in herd status. Stands well for farrier, bathes, hauls, utd on everything. We had hoped she might be able to be a leadline or light riding horse, but she has quite a bit of anxiety around saddling and showed some discomfort under saddle, so we believe she would be better off as an in-hand, companion, or non-riding therapy horse. She has hind-end arthritis, and may be in the early stages of DSLD, so she is on Equioxx. She also has allergic dermatitis which we are treating with Allertec. For more information and to fill out an adoption application, see https://www.skagitanimalsinneed.org/nova-an-arab-mare/ or email adoptions@skagitanimalsinneed.org.
