Northern Kid (trails/pleasure- intermediate rider/driver)'s Story
NORTHERN KID – 20 year-old 16hh Standardbred gelding - suited for trail/pleasure riding/driving with intermediate rider/driver

Everyone loves Kid. Despite being a stallion until recently, he has good ground manners and well-behaved for the vet and farrier. Good loading in a trailer. The most he’ll ever do is paw a little playfully; he does not act studdish. He is even gentle around children.

Kid has prior under saddle experience and has been ridden on trails. Suited for an intermediate rider since he may playfully lower his head under saddle. Kid is good whether he’s leading on trails, following another horse or riding next to other horses. He will make a nice all-around riding horse and has a big, beautiful floating trot.

In 2019, Kid was the in-hand national champion at the National Standardbred Horse Show, at his first-ever show. He would also be good driving in harness and is a retired Standardbred racehorse (trotter).

Kid has been turned out with other horses in the past, but currently is best turned out alone. He could possibly be turned out with a mellow gelding, as long as they are fully separated at grain time, but is happy and good socializing with other horses over the fence. Kid was gelded in early March 2022 and will be ready to leave for an adoptive home in early April.

Available for $350 to an approved home with contract with a minimum 60 day trial period. Adopter must be located within an eight (8) hour drive of Howell, NJ OR the Lexington, Kentucky area. For more information or to request an application, please email lunar_aradia@yahoo.com.
