Macaroni's Story

Macaroni is the sweetest boy ever!

Macaroni is a 20+ year old mixed breed (QH type) gelding. He is as sweet as pie and gets along well with mares, gelding, minis, donkeys, and chickens! He would do well in most turnout arrangements and would love a nice grassy field to graze in.

Macaroni is super well broke under saddle, very Western trained. He has a good "go" button, and is a sensitive, forward thinking ride. Macaroni is a little arthritic, and with his confirmation, we feel its best if he has a lighter rider (under 170lbs).
He can walk/trot but hasn't wanted to canter under saddle. The button is there, he will pick it up for a step or two but prefers to trot instead.
Due to how sensitive and forward Macaroni can be, he is best for an intermediate rider.

Macaroni was rescued from auction in June 2025. Macaroni arrived significantly underweight, we quickly learned that he has next to no teeth left and requires a specialized diet of complete feed and hay stretcher mashes. With the proper feeding routine he flourished!

If you are interested in adopting one of our equines, please complete the equine placement on our website, www.lastchanceranch.org. Equine placement fees range from $150 to $2000 depending on the age, training and abilities of the equine. The placement fee includes current vaccines, negative Coggins test, dental floating, de-worming and farrier trimming. All equine adopters must live within 3 hours of Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, PA.
