Lilly's Story

This lovely Golden Girl is a calm, friendly, sweet mare with a very boop-able nose! She is likely 28-32 years old, based on her dentition, though our vet did say she could have prematurely worn teeth, and she acts like a much younger lady. She enjoys a good brushing, scratches, and kisses on her adorable nose. As her teeth are a fairly worn, she's been eating soaked alfalfa pellets and senior feed. Although she is able to chew grass hay, she'll likely need to stay on pelleted feed to maintain her new healthy weight. She recently started learning all about clicker training and has been a quick study. It would be great if her education can continue in her new home. She's all about the cookies! She'll come running across the pasture when called. She's happy in a stall, as long as she has access outside. Being locked in makes her a little nervous. Fireworks also make her a little anxious, but she keeps her head about her. Overall she is easy to handle, just needs some patience when it comes to hoof trims. But it won't take much to make her a pro! She can use a few reminders occasionally about personal space, but responds well. You can tell she's had extensive handling in the past. Someone will be very lucky to have Lilly in their life.
