Meet Joe
I'm Joe and if you have a treat, please share. For now, I manage the intake barn where I can free roam in and out of my stall and get plenty of space to move about. I love to showoff for anyone in the front pasture or my buddy Billy.
Joe is a 9 year old appendix quarter horse gelding with serious kissing spine (many spinal cysts). He is unsafe to ride. He was diagnosed with severe EPM in January of 2021, had 8 months of treatment, and finally had a zero protozoa titer in October of 2021. He is a big 17.2 hand gentle giant with good ground manners, loves to be doted on, and just needs somewhere to live out his life.
Being in retirement and having pasture space has helped strengthen Joe's hind end. He is very friendly and loves to greet all his visitors. Too many treats though, make him a bit mouthy, so we try not to overdo it. He loves a good hose down or a mist set up in his stall to play with. He eats about 30 lbs of hay a day and some grain with supplements, so any reocurring sponsorships would be greatly appreciated.
