CURRENT RIDER LEVEL - Confident Beginner- knowledgeable with ongoing care for Navicular Disease<br/><br/>Gypsy is a 2015 Paint mare standing 15.2 hands and weighing approximately 1,070 lbs. Gypsy is a quiet, well-mannered mare who integrates well into a mixed herd of mares and geldings. In-hand, she is gentle and calm. She is easy to catch, leads well, and stands quietly for grooming. While generally easygoing, Gypsy is still a mare and may occasionally pin her ears in protest if she is uncomfortable, requiring light, appropriate correction.<br/><br/>Gypsy came to us with a history of navicular disease in both front hooves. She is currently sound on full turnout with shoes, leather pads, and no additional maintenance. However, to remain a comfortable and consistent riding horse, she will require ongoing corrective farrier work, potential periodic joint injections, long-term maintenance with medications such as Equioxx, and riding primarily on soft, well-maintained footing such as an arena with deep sand.<br/><br/>Although navicular disease is progressive over time, Gypsy is well worth the investment. She is a lovely ride—sensitive and responsive to seat, leg, and vocal cues. She is trained in multiple disciplines including English hunt seat, ranch riding, and trail.
