Gumby's Story

Gumby is a 29+ year old Quarter Horse gelding with a heart of gold and the kind of quiet wisdom only a senior horse can offer. He is very easy to handle on the ground and is a well-trained, dependable gentleman.

Gumby gets along well with other geldings and has previously been pastured successfully with mares and mini horses. While he has lived in a 24/7 pasture setup, Gumby truly thrives with the more individualized care that a stall with paddock turnout can provide.

Due to limited dentition, Gumby requires a specialized feeding routine. He enjoys multiple warm senior feed and forage-extender mashes each day, supplemented with chopped alfalfa. He still appreciates time in the pasture when available and enjoys being part of the herd at his own pace.

Gumby is rideable and best suited for advanced beginner riders. He would be happiest in a mostly retired home where he can enjoy light, occasional rides, a relaxed "plop around the farm" kind of lifestyle, paired with lots of care and attention.

If you are interested in adopting one of our equines, please complete the equine placement on our website, www.lastchanceranch.org. Equine placement fees range from $150 to $2000 depending on the age, training and abilities of the equine. The placement fee includes current vaccines, negative Coggins test, dental floating, de-worming and farrier trimming. All equine adopters must live within 3 hours of Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, PA.
