Forrest is a potential competitor for the 2026 Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge. If matched with a trainer, he will spend 100+ days in training and be available for adoption at the Dakota Showdown Finale on August 23, 2026, in Lennox, SD through a bidding process to approved adopters.<br/><br/>Forrest is a BLM mustang who joined us specifically for the 2025 Dakota Showdown. Unfortunately his trainer was not able to devote enough time to him, so he returned to the rescue early, but even with limited handling he was able to complete the obstacle course and an impromptu freestyle at the Finale!<br/><br/>He spent the winter with a youth trainer where he has continued to build his friendliness and confidence. He currently has a great foundation and ground manners, and has even been backed under saddle! He will likely be competing in the 2026 Showdown where we can't wait to see how he progresses and hope he finds his home.
