AGES was contacted in December of 2023 by a Standardbred lover who helps killpen horses - when able to - to be pulled and rehomed by local rescues. We were told there was a mare in a kill pen in Columbus, WI who was not only pregnant - with foal #16, but was also 23 years old!! Since we're just an hour away........and it's winter, and who's going to save a pregnant 23-year-old with another on the way, we picked up Minx and babied her through the months of the huge belly growing! <br/><br/>Fletcher was born July 11th, 2024! He was as handsome as I knew he would be!! Legs that went on forever!! He's been an awesome colt to have here....and watch grow. He was castrated April of this year. <br/><br/>He is quite a gentleman already. I taped him today at 14.2hh. He should mature to 16.2 or 16.3. <br/><br/>He is available now - for adoption to an approved family/home. Standardbreds can do anything and everything from driving, to jumping, and everything in between! <br/>If you're looking for an eventer or....???, this boy has all you could want! He stands tied, started allowing hoof trimming...walks nicely on a lead, etc. <br/>He is a show stopper!! <br/><br/>Adoption applications are located on our website, rescuehorses.org. <br/>Check out photos and videos of Fletch on our Facebook page, AgEquine. <br/>He will be "the one to beat" in a couple years.......no matter the sport!!<br/><br/>Fletcher's adoption fee is currently set at $1250.00.
