Emmy Lu Slew's Story

2009 16.1HH Bay Thoroughbred Mare

“Emmy” is a stunning, athletic off-the-track Thoroughbred with a royal pedigree. As the granddaughter of 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, she carries both beauty and legacy in her bloodlines. She’s a sweet, sensitive mare who thrives on routine and becomes very in-your-pocket once she builds trust.

Emmy has been ridden at the walk and trot and is currently building confidence in her trot work in the arena. She’s intelligent, eager to learn, and responds best to calm, consistent handling. Because she is still green, she needs an experienced rider to continue developing her skills. Emmy does well with a structured but varied training schedule that balances her riding work with fun, confidence-building activities—liberty exercises are a favorite.

At this stage in her career, Emmy is suited for a relaxed home focused on low- to medium-impact flatwork. She benefits from regular chiropractic care and currently wears front shoes. While she once had a reputation for being hard to catch, a consistent routine of bringing her up to her stall each day has completely resolved that behavior. With time, trust, and a few snacks, her loyalty truly shines.

If you’re looking for a talented and responsive partner, Emmy could be the perfect match!

Adoption Fee: $1,000

Apply today at: https://form.jotform.com/231711475494156

KYEAC will not process any application unless the required photos, proof of residence, and application fee are included. If approved, we will put you in touch with one of our trainers who will work with you to find your perfect equine partner(s). Further, we require adopters to complete an inspection on the adopted equine at 6 and 12 months after the date of the adoption. Provided the photos and veterinary report from these two inspections are satisfactory, KYEAC will then transfer full ownership of the equine to the Adopter at 12 months via a transfer letter.
