Eliana's Story
Eliana is a young mustang mare with a sweet, willing nature and a bright future ahead of her. She originally came to GSH in 2016 as part of the ISPMB/Hallelujah Horses rescue in Lantry, SD, and after some time in a loving home, she recently returned due to rising boarding costs and the economy.

This summer, Eliana has been working with a professional trainer at RTS Performance Horses and has been successfully restarted under saddle. She’s been saddled, bridled, and ridden, and continues to gain confidence with each session. She stands quietly in cross-ties for grooming, fly spray, and tacking, and is proving herself to be a smart, responsive partner who enjoys learning.

Because Eliana has a history of laminitis, she will need an adopter who can manage her diet carefully. She should not be turned out on lush pasture and will do best in a dry lot environment. For this reason, we prefer she stay on the west side of South Dakota, close to her current trainer and where her needs can be better supported.
