Dawn's Story

PLEASE NOTE: THE INQUIRY FORM ON THIS PAGE IS NOT THE HEART OF PHOENIX ADOPTION APPLICATION
Dawn
Foal date: 5-26-22
QH cross
Filly
Bay
Height:14

FEE: $1,800 (fee increases with training, so fee may not be current)
Dawn has been in training with Bailey Harless in WV.

From trainer 7/2025:

Dawn is a sweet young mare with an amazing brain. She’s around 14 hands and is still growing. She tries really hard to please and enjoys being worked with and having a job. Shes curious, loves people, and is fun to be around. Dawn is lightly started under saddle and could go in any direction. She really enjoys obstacles, trails, and light arena work so far. I could see her potentially really enjoying patterns, jumping when she is old enough, being a cute western pony, and potentially a lesson pony with more miles. At this time an intermediate rider/ intermediate rider with a trainer would probably be the best match for her just because she is still green. Whoever adopts her will need to not feed her any treats and make sure she respect your space. Dawn is all around great, and safe to be around. She loads and trailers well, stands tied, lunges, moves her shoulders and hindquarters, side passes, stands for the farrier, to be groomed, tacked up, etc. She LOVES attention and just to be with people. She has an in your pocket personality. She’s not really too spooky, and if she does spook she has pretty level headed reactions. She’s probably been one of the easiest horse I’ve ever started and have no doubt whoever adopts her will love her and have a nice little horse for life

Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs.

Horse Locations Typically: West Virginia – Kentucky – Virginia – Ohio – Maryland – PA – NC

Please inquire about a horse's specific location when you apply!

We are looking to adopt to safe homes.

A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.

Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.

Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match.
