She then spent sometime with another trainer from the Appalachian Trainer Face Off, where there was ground work and a few rides with that trainer before they had parted ways.
Strengths:
Easy to catch, even in a pasture of horses
Not hard to love, at all lol she's a little love bug
She is a very willing partner
She can stand tied and will stand for the farrier
She will tolerate fly spray but unsure of it sometimes, so you have to start at her feet when she's unsure
She can be saddled standing tied
She has amazing ground manners
Getting better at becoming soft
She does well at self regulating in some areas like ground work
Loads in horse trailer easily
Learning more body control
Becoming more confident leaving the herd
Getting use to riding in different arenas
Weakness:
She gets sticky feet when riding past the herd. She has thrown me once for this We have been working really hard to get her out of that mind set. She has been getting out of this mindset but will test it
She can be buddy sour, it has gotten better but it takes time to redirect her focus onto the task at hand
In this video:
you'll see she will stand nice to saddle & to swing a leg over, she loves turning around & getting loved on before & during her rides
She trots very nicely both ways, we are still learning body control but this will come with time
She is getting so much better at shoulder control- we are working on crossing the front feet over the front of each other, as well as backing & crossing the front feet behind each other, again all a work in progress. This is still pretty fresh & she gave so much try today. I am so proud of her
She also got her first bath today!! I don't think she really welcomed it until she felt how cool the water was lol
Aniyah is a willing partner. She wants a relationship with you but she does love to see what she can get away with lol not in a negative way just seeing where you stand in the relationship. Even though she doesn't get in a hurry for anything she tries her heart out everytime. She will keep you safe too. My one gelding charged at her while I was on her, & as soon as she moved her body away enough for him, she stopped & waited for my next direction. When the herd was running around, she stood there, she did not get worked up with the herd, she just stood there, again waiting for the next step
Aniyah would need an advanced rider, someone that can see the subtle signs on testing in the herd aspect but someone that understands she doesn't get in a hurry. Someone that isn't going to man handled her into what they want- she likes a respectful relationship & she'll make you earn it before she opens up to you. She is one of the sweetest mares I ever met I feel she would make a really great trail horse!!

If youre interested in bidding, apply now for the opportunity to bid on horses that fit your riding category. If you are a first-time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.

Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.

Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you it is a no-fail process for finding the right match.

Apply at https://www.wvhorserescue.org/adopt
PLEASE NOTE: THE INQUIRY FORM ON THIS PAGE IS NOT THE HEART OF PHOENIX ADOPTION APPLICATION
