Angel's Story

2000 15.1 HH Gray Appaloosa Cross Mare Angel is a lovely gray spotted Appaloosa-cross mare who recently came to us through an animal control case. When her owner could no longer provide care, Angel needed a safe place to land — and we’re grateful to be that place. In her 20s, Angel is entering her golden years and is looking for a peaceful, non-riding home where she can enjoy life at a slower pace. She wasn’t emaciated upon arrival, but like many horses, she benefits from consistent care, good nutrition, and a calm environment. She can be slow to warm up to new people, but with trust and consistency, she is settling into her new surroundings. She has “boss mare” energy and loves her pasture buddies. Angel would make a wonderful companion horse for someone looking to provide comfort, kindness, and a soft place to retire. If you have room in your heart and pasture for a sweet senior mare, Angel would love to spend her retirement surrounded by love and care. Kentucky Equine Adoption Center Inc.'s Adoption Policy

At the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center (KYEAC), we meet horses from all walks of life. In order to adopt one of our horses, we require you to fill out and submit an adoption application. KYEAC will not process any application unless the required photos, proof of residence, and application fee are included. If approved, we will put you in touch with one of our trainers who will work with you to find your perfect equine partner(s). NOTE: All adopters must sign an Equine Adoption and Placement Agreement and pay the adoption fee before the equine leaves KYEAC. Adopters are responsible for transportation arrangements and costs at the time of the adoption and in the event of return. Adoption fees are non-refundable. Please also note that Adopter agrees that the adopted equine may not be raced, bred, sold, given away or assigned by the Adopter, except as otherwise provided in the adoption contract. Further, we require adopters to complete an inspection on the adopted equine at 6 and 12 months after the date of the adoption. Provided the photos and veterinary report from these two inspections are satisfactory, KYEAC will then transfer full ownership of the equine to the Adopter at 12 months via a transfer letter.
