These dogs are being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas or North Central Texas area.<br/><br/>NAME: Zuzu, Belle, Hermey and Cindy Lou!<br/>GENDER: Three Females (Will be Spayed) and One Male (Will be Neutered)<br/>AGE: About 1 Week (as of Early December)<br/>WEIGHT: From 7 to 8 Ounces (Still Growing)<br/>DOGS/CATS: TBD (likely will love other small dogs)<br/>CHILDREN: TBD<br/>AVAILABILITY: Early April<br/><br/>Meet our newest puppy litter: Zuzu, Belle, Hermey and Cindy Lou!<br/><br/>On Monday Dec 1st, Chihuahua Rescue & Transport received an emergency call for help from a Good Samaritan trying to find a safe place for a neighbor’s Chihuahuas – a mom with 4 one-week-old puppies and another female Chihuahua. All were living in the backyard with no shelter from rain or frigid temps. The mom and puppies were confined in a small wire kennel.<br/><br/>The owners were unwilling to bring the Chihuahua family inside. They informed the neighbor that they would be leaving the country by the end of this week and had no plan for their dogs other than to leave them behind. They told her if she could find a place for their dogs, they would happily surrender them. Urgently, she reached out to us, “They’re freezing. They won’t make it if someone doesn’t come now.” We immediately drove to rescue the family and a few hours later they were safe in a CRT foster homes.<br/><br/>These puppies are very young (estimated to be a week old on Dec 1st). Our game plan with them is as follows: they will nurse with their Mom until about 6 weeks old. At that time they will have teeth, will be eating puppy food, and will be ready to separate from Mom. We will then take them to the vet for round one of puppy vaccinations. We then wait 30 days and take them back to the vet for round two of puppy vaccinations. Then we wait 30 more days and take them back to the vet for the final round of puppy vaccinations, their spay/neuter and their microchip insertion. So these puppies will be ready for adoption about April of 2026.<br/><br/>There are three girls and one boy! We will keep you updated as they grow and begin to update pictures and individual bios. The Mom is only about 5 – 6 pounds. We’ll see how the puppies grow, but they may be around that size when fully grown. Note we have no idea who the Dad is.<br/><br/>Color coding (ribbons on necks):<br/>Red: Zuzu (girl)<br/>Pink: Belle (girl)<br/>White: Cindy Lou (girl)<br/>Green: Hermey (boy)<br/><br/>These puppies are being fostered in the Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas) area. Vet work is scheduled to be completed in April, and they will then be ready for adoption. We are accepting applications now.<br/><br/>These puppies are a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $350.00 adoption donation required.<br/><br/>As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention.
