Zorah's Story

Zorah, female Rottweiler, DOB: 11-21-2025
She is 14 weeks old and weighs in at 30 lbs. This is going to be a very big girl! 💜.
Zorah is exactly what her breed is supposed to be, leary of strangers, she loves her person deeply, and barks when strangers approach. She is crate trained and has been doing well with house training, but she will need continued training as she is just a baby.

Zorah loves other dogs and would benefit from having another dog in the house.
She would do well with someone that has experience with the breed.

Zorah is up to date on her vaccines, will be microchipped and is on monthly flea/tick prevention.
Adopter will be required to sign a spay contract as she has not been spayed yet. Being a large breed the rescue has opted to let her grow more before having her spayed.

**This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing.**

** This is a courtesy listing for one of our partner rescues. All applications will be reviewed by his caregiver, Rhonda. We will help facilitate his transport.**

Adoption fee is $700 and the transport fee is $175.
_______________________________
Considering adoption?

Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link)
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/dog

Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email.

A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application -

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application.

If your application was successfully submitted you will get a generated confirmation email.

DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY READY TO ADOPT.

All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved.

WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks.
We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019.

***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. ***

We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents

Our Mission
Dixie Adoptables is a 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue. We are a rescue, not a shelter, and as such we do not have our animals housed in one location – they are in foster homes. Founded in 2008, we are committed to rescuing, caring for, and adopting homeless dogs and cats into loving and responsible homes.
