Zoinks's Story

Name: Zoinks
Age: 2 yrs
Gender: Neutered Male
Breed: Shepherd Blend
Weight: 73 lbs
Experience Level: 2

As his old pal Scooby would say — "Z-z-zoinks!" — this sweet boy came in a little spooked and unsure, with some nervous energy and barky behavior. But just like any good mystery, all it took was a little time, patience, and Scooby Snacks (okay, dog treats!) for Zoinks to start coming out of his shell.

At first, he was cautious and a bit overwhelmed, especially in new environments. But with each day, Zoinks is starting to unmask his true self — a gentle, curious, and responsive pup who just needed a little help solving the mystery of trust.
He recently joined the doggy playgroup with a muzzle on (just to be safe), but when it slipped off, he surprised us all by handling it like a total pro! He had mellow, friendly interactions with several doggos around his size, both boys and girls, and remained his charming self — sounds like a pup ready to join the gang, huh?

Zoinks walks great on leash, loves spending time with his handler, and is very treat-motivated (Shaggy would approve). He's still working through some nerves, especially in high-sensory situations like vet visits, but with the right support, he shows a lot of promise. We think he'd do great in a calm home with humans (and maybe even dogs!) who give him the time and space he needs to feel safe.

Just like Scooby-Doo needed his gang, Zoinks is looking for his own Mystery Inc. — a loyal family ready to go on life’s adventures, one Scooby Snack at a time.
Ruh-roh... don’t miss out on this one! Come meet Zoinks today!

Apply to adopt Zoinks here: https://www.waynedogshelter.org/adoption-application
