Zoey's Story

Zoey is a calm, affectionate, and devoted cuddle bug who loves to be near her people. She enjoys relaxing on the couch, hanging out in bed, and getting pets and treats, and she has a gentle, sweet personality that shines through on walks and car rides. Zoey is house trained, responds well to basic commands like sit and paw, and enjoys treats and squeaky toys. She is shy around men and new people at first but warms up quickly with positive interactions.

Zoey has some medical needs, including bilateral CCL disease, for which she is currently on joint supplements and pain management. Ideally, she would benefit from a home that can eventually pursue surgical correction (TPLO) to improve her knee health. She does not do well with cats or small animals and may be best in a quiet home without them.

Her foster says "Zoey is one of the sweetest dogs I have spent time with at shelter. She truly just wants your love and affection and she is content. She is relatively shy but opens up to the people around her pretty fast. For the most part Zoey is calm and loves her naps but she can also be super playful if in the right setting."
