Zither's Story
Zither is a 1.5 year old Corgi/Chihuahua mix who came to us from an extreme hoarding situation in Texas. He is a gentle, sensitive little dog who is still learning that people, routines, and new surroundings can be safe. Zither will need a patient, understanding family willing to let him settle in at his own pace and celebrate the small but meaningful signs of trust along the way, like the tail wags and quick kisses he has recently begun to share.

In foster care, Zither has shown that he does well with other dogs as well as cats. He is respectful with his foster family's older, more confident dogs. He is curious about the world around him and walks exceptionally well on leash, taking in all the interesting sights and smells without pulling. He has been quiet in the home, is not destructive, and happily rests in the kitchen area at night.

Zither is still shy about being approached and touched, so he will do best with a calm, patient family that understands he may need time to build trust. He enjoys treats and is beginning to show more of his personality each day. A quieter home with older, dog-savvy children, or adults would be a wonderful match for this sensitive boy.

Zither's ideal family will provide a consistent routine, gentle encouragement, and secure supervision during walks and outdoor time while he continues gaining confidence. In return, they will have the privilege of watching this sweet little dog blossom into a more comfortable, trusting companion.

Zither is currently fostered in North Easton MA.
