Zinka's Story

Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Zinka has overcome her rough start to life and is enjoying every day! She now enjoys being outside. Her pastime is watching the neighborhood squirrels running along the fence line and through the trees. She likes to play fetch but isn't always the best at doing her part of the game. She will bring the ball back 4 or 5 times and then it's hers to own!

She is using the bells on the back door to let us know when she needs to go outside. It isn't always to go potty; she may ring them just to go out to see her squirrel friends. The high deck is her favorite perch to see the world go by.

Zinka, like I said, had a tough start. She is a bit timid at first and can be nervous around quick movements. We've been going out and about a lot recently and those nerves are starting to ease a bit. She does well when we go to the store and walks pretty well on the leash. She walked the entire St Patrick's Day parade and did so well. We were very proud of her coming out of her shell and greeting onlookers throughout the route.

She plays well with other dogs, is interested in the cat and wants to know more about her (but the cat says no way)!! She hasn't been around small children much but would do great with kids over 6 or 7. Small children are still a bit too unpredictable for her.

Zinka will be a great companion to whatever you have going on. She likes to be on the go but will equally snuggle in the recliner and take a nap.

---------------

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).

Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
