Ziggy's Story
ZIGGY is a 2-year-old Sheep-a-Doodle who came to us after a failed adoption through another rescue and the other rescue was unable to take him due to insurance regulations over a nip. Ziggy is a typical “doodle” - has more energy than his adopters were anticipating. He’s really a nice dog, just a little “over the top“ and needs a job to do. We are looking for a family with no children because of the nip. A dog savvy family who understands working dogs. Ziggy knows basic commands and although he pulls on the leash with enthusiasm, he does listen and will settle once he’s gotten started on his walk. Of course, he is a breed that’s going to require regular grooming – be sure to contact local groomers prior to filling out an application so you know what you’re getting into there, cost wise and availability wise. Ziggy is large – bigger than your average OES - and smart! He’s going to make somebody a wonderful dog! Ziggy is reported to be good with other dogs – we find that he gets overstimulated so slow and careful introductions are a must. He is reported to be okay with cats as well but, again, overstimulated. The nip occurred when a visitor knelt and got in his face - the adopter understood what went wrong there, however, with children in the house, they no longer felt comfortable. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org. There will be a series of meet and greets and a home visit required. Adoption $350.
