Zeus's Story

What do you get when you mix a Pomeranian and a Husky? A 21-pound ball of fluff with lots of energy! He loves to walk and his foster home reports he is great on the leash (pulling a little at first, but settles down quickly).

While loved for many years in his home, the family dynamic changed and Zeus could not cohabitate with a toddler. Zeus is looking for an adult only home that can appreciate a dog with boundaries. Don't get us wrong, Zeus will fully roll over for belly pets and appreciates tons of love, but he reserves the right to change his mind. He gives very appropriate cues when he doesn't like what is happening. He absolutely loves to play fetch and has been fully enjoying all this winter weather as well.

Zeus is dog selective and doesn't love cats, so he'd probably be best as the only fluff ball in the home. The foster reports he is house-trained and just perfect! He likes getting brushed and is generally a pretty easy keeper.

This pup may have lots of energy, but he does prefer a consistent and quiet environment. Sure he may shed like a son of a gun, but those stunning eyes and adorable face will win you over!

We do NOT respond to PetFinder inquires; we only respond to emails sent to adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org regarding adoption inquires.

We never know how quickly a pet will be adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in a pet but want to see them during our shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, we strongly recommend that you email us at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application. Adoption fees allow our non-profit to continue to help pets in need.

Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and we’ve determined you are the best fit. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.

Our Adoption Process Please note our adoption application process is not on a first come, first serve basis. When you first arrive at our shelter, you will be asked to fill out a brief survey, which helps us to find the right pet for you. Our adoption counselors act as “matchmakers” and will work with you to find the right match - for both you and the animal - based on the information you have given us. If you don't find a match right away, we will hold your survey on file for several months while you continue your search.
