Meet Zeus! Your new best friend. This fun loving 3 1/2 year old pure Pittie is ready for his absolute, final, forever home. Medium energy. He's open to meeting new people and having adventures. He isn't food or toy aggressive. <br/>Zeus isn't totally submissive at first. Once he knows he can trust you he loves rolling on his back for a happy belly rub. <br/><br/>Likes & Dislikes:<br/>There is not much Zeus doesn't like. Though he probably isn't going to be your jogging buddy. He likes walks, car rides, camping and hiking, playing ball is a favorite, walks on the beach, and going to social events where dogs are allowed. From the city to the woods...he's the perfect date. Zeus is used to jumping up in the back of a van to go for rides.<br/>At home in a fenced yard he loves to explore and to practice training to please you. Zeus is good at focusing. And...he isn't phased by loud noises. <br/>Toys are fun to chew on rather than destroy, and chew bones and Kongs are favorites.<br/>While Zeus love walks on the beach he hasn't been water/swimming tested. <br/><br/>Training: <br/>Zeus is house and crate trained. He has been through basic training but needs continued training and refreshers. Not jumping excitedly on people is one of the lessons he needs continued work on. (This author has been with Zeus numerous times and he has not jumped up. He has leaned in for snuggles) Again, he is good at focusing. He likes his treats. Zeus wants to please his people and is happy with treats or pets. He takes correction well. Since being saved he has been trained with a prong collar while on walks.<br/>Zeus currently understands the words: "Breakfast", which is what all meals are called, "Cookies", "Where's the ball?", "Sit, Stay, Down, Off, Come, Kennel", and "Go outside". <br/><br/>Medical: <br/>Zeus is healthy 95 lb boy. He is neutered and microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.<br/><br/>Other Animals: <br/>At one of the shelters along his journey a volunteer noticed Zeus had dug up a nest of baby bunnies. They were afraid he may have killed them. They watched as he was picking them up gently and bringing inside to his bed. <br/>He has been seen to growl at his own reflection in a mirror when that dog just stood firm and stared at him!<br/>On walks and social events Zeus enjoys meeting other dogs. He likes social dog meets but will be his best in a home where he shines as the one and only 'Good Boy'. Unknown about cats.<br/><br/>Children: <br/>No children at this time. Zeus is a big boy and still in training not to jump on people when excited to see them. Due to his size and joy at being with his people the kids should be older or teens and be respectfully dog savvy.<br/><br/>Home: <br/>Zeus is crate trained and has little separation anxiety. He can entertain himself. Zeus hopes he will have a family that will be there for him, take him with them, and not leave him all day. When it's time to chill he loves to be at your feet by the couch or chair. At night Zeus sleeps in his crate near his people.<br/><br/>Grooming: <br/>Zeus has short hair. He does well with the grooming. He doesn't mind his paws being touched or nails clipped. Can touch his ears and even brush his teeth.<br/><br/>Overall: <br/>Zeus is a dog that will always be glad to see you. His smile will make you smile. He's friendly, affectionate, tries to be gentle, wants to please, funny, and smart. Zeus will be your home boy if you want to be home but your adventure buddy if you are game.
