Zero's Story

Zero came into Stop the Suffering with his mom Sugar and 4 siblings. Upon examination, our vet said she felt the puppies were around six weeks old, born around July 10, 2025!

This handsome guy is the definition of affectionate. He adores people and wants nothing more than to be close to his humans, soaking up pets and giving out kisses. He's playful and curious, and like many puppies, he's still learning his manners — he may play-bite a bit, but he's doing great learning that toys are the best outlet for his energy.
He's already potty trained and kennel trained. At bedtime or when you leave, he might protest for a couple of minutes, but he settles nicely when he has a cozy blanket and a bone to keep him company. He's eager to please and picks things up quickly with consistency and love.

This boy truly shines with other dogs and would love a canine friend to play with. He does show interest in cats, but he's responsive and can be called off, making him a great candidate for a home willing to continue gentle guidance.

To learn more about our adoption process and to apply to adopt, visit www.stopthesuffering.org/adopt. All of our dogs are fostered in the Columbus area and are available for adoption to Ohio residents. If you see a dog posted on social media who is not listed on the adoption application, select “unknown” and fill in the dog's name later in the application.

Stop the Suffering's Adoption Policy
OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, negative heartworm, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only. STS is a foster based, volunteer run, rescue. As such, we do not have a physical location or hours for you meet any foster dog and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is complete you are able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application. For detailed information about our adoption process including fees please visit our website at http://www.stopthesuffering.org. 1. Complete the online application at www.stopthesuffering.org. 2. We complete vet and reference verification. 3. Once approved, we schedule a home visit and meet and greet. WHAT WE REQUIRE: To ensure the safety and health of your new family member, we require that pets currently in the home be altered, up-to-date on vaccinations, on appropriate heartworm and flea prevention, and that all pets be kept indoors. We will require physical fences for specific dogs that we feel will be necessary to ensure their safety. QUESTIONS: Please visit our website to see detailed information about our adoption process including fees.
