Zero's Story

Zero is a 5-year-old, 20-pound male chihuahua mix from Tijuana! Zero is a playful, affectionate and curious pup.

He has adjusted very well so far during his time in Jersey City. Zero enjoys playing fetch, snuggling up on your lap, and going on long sniff walks.

Zero is a tripod. He was found with an injury that ultimately led to his right hind leg being amputated, but he has adjusted extremely well. He loves to do little tripod jumps when he knows it's time to go out for a walk.

Zero is a smart pup who already knows “no” and “come here”. During his time with his foster family, Zero has made great strides with housetraining since arriving in his foster home. He is doing well going outside to do his business and continuing to build a consistent routine. He has also been doing well with crate training.

Zero is fantastic on a leash and walks right by your side, making strolls together easy and enjoyable.

His forever family will need to continue working with Zero to reinforce and advance the progress he's been making.

He loves to be cozy with his foster family and can often be found with his favorite chilli toy.

Zero is looking for a moderately active family. He appreciates downtime and active moments. Zero is happy as either a solo dog or with another dog in the home. He doesn't show a strong preference and adapts well to different environments.

We believe Zero could do well in a home with children who are gentle and respectful with dogs.

Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.

To apply to foster/foster-to-adopt to adopt Zero, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org

STEP 1: Download and complete an adoption application (www.waggytailrescue.org) and email to adopt@waggytailrescur.org. This is the time to determine whether a dog's personality is a match for your whole family and other animals, and to see if you have allergies. Please don't wait until after adopting to really touch and handle a dog, skip the antihistamines and get those allergens all over you now! STEP 3: You love the dog!
