Zen - In Foster's Story
Zen is a 4-year-old Shar Pei mix weighing about 65 lbs, and he truly lives up to his name. He’s a sweet, gentle soul who thrives in a calm, predictable environment and is looking for a home where he can continue to blossom at his own pace.

Zen is affectionate, quiet, and very eager to please. He’s a bit cautious and reserved at first, but with patience and kindness, his loving personality really shines. He’s looking for a person (or family) who understands that confidence is built slowly—and who will celebrate the small wins along the way.

One of Zen’s favorite things in the world is being outside. Long walks are his happy place, and he even enjoys snowy adventures! He has excellent leash manners and is a joy to walk. At home, Zen does best when he has a furry companion—he’s lived peacefully with both dogs and cats and feels more secure when he’s not the only pet in the house.

Zen doesn’t like being alone and is currently working on crate training, so he’ll do best with someone who can continue helping him feel safe and comfortable when separated. Car rides are still scary for him right now, and he’ll need a patient adopter who can help him gradually overcome that fear.

If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal companion who loves nature, routine, and having a buddy by his side, Zen may be your perfect match. He’s ready for a home where he can feel safe, supported, and loved
