Zella's Story
Zella and her littermates were found as strays in Opelika, Alabama. When they arrived at the local shelter, they were very sick puppies—but thankfully, they were in the right place at the right time. The shelter team provided the lifesaving medical care they needed, and because of that, Zella is now fully recovered, thriving, and ready for her forever home.

Our best guess on her breed mix includes hound/beagle, possibly with some lab, boxer, and/or pittie. She’s approaching 6 months old and right around 30 lbs, so we expect her to stay a comfortable medium size once fully grown.

Zella is an independent little sweetheart with a curious nose and a big love for her doggy friends! She’s wonderful at entertaining herself and is always eager to see what’s happening next. Her favorite part of the day is walk time—when the leash comes out, she gets so excited it’s impossible not to smile! In the evenings, while we’re relaxing and watching TV, Zella adorably wanders into the kitchen, snuggles into her crate, and puts herself to bed all on her own.

She truly is a special puppy. Housetraining is going really well and she’s almost there! Because she can be a bit shy when meeting new people, Zella would do best in a home with older children who can give her gentle patience as she blossoms.

Zella is current on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She is also spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450.

If you are interested in this cutie, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org.
