Zeke's Story

Meet Zeke! He is a 5 year old, neutered male, black with white markings, 80-85 lbs. Zeke is a well- loved pit bull who has some special needs in order to thrive. We are a busy family with 3 kids and a complex schedule, and cannot be the best dog parents for him. Up to date with vaccines and all veterinary care (last visit and shots Nov 2021).

Strengths:
Active boy, loves to walk and swim, but also will lay around a lot of the time if you’re chill at home. House trained, listens to commands such as sit, stay, leave it, down. Good with families, sleeps with our children every night, protector of the home. Gets along well with his sister Maggie a 1 year old English Bulldog, would do well with another dog in the home that he is familiar with. Has also done really well with a Furbo when left home alone outside.

Struggles:
Separation Anxiety, Confinement Anxiety. Zeke cannot be left alone inside the home or crated as he will try and claw and chew his way out, needs an outdoor dog run (covered if possible with a bed) to thrive (which could be a small fenced yard away from major stimuli). He’s on doggie Prozac to calm his overall intensity as he has certain triggers that get him over-excited. Very strong, walks on a gentle leader.

Zeke would do well with an owner who can dedicate some time to separation anxiety training eventually, and who just generally wants to be with him a lot. He will cuddle you every day of the week and keep you safe, that’s for sure.

Zeke is a courtesy post, please reach out to Ana with questions. doynitrite@gmail.com
