Zaya's Story

Zaya is about 3yrs. old. She came from a high kill shelter where her and her puppies were dumped. She had a broken front leg, torn ACL, broken k9 tooth, lymes disease, and heartworms.

She has recently finished heartworm treatment and has been treated for the lymes disease but has a severe leg fracture (elbow is completely shattered) that has healed dislocated which is unfixable and will need amputated in the near future. The rescue is committed to paying for all vet expenses and surgeries until Zaya is 100% healed and healthy.

She was previously abused and is still scared of sudden movements and loud noises so we are requiring her to go to either a home with children that are 10+yrs old to ensure they understand to be gentle and not scare her. She has a fear of men at first but will warm up once she knows they will not hurt her.

Zaya is the sweetest, most loving dog! Her favorite thing in the world is just to be pet and loved on! Her only "downside" is that her tail is ALWAYS wagging and thumping against anything in it's path!

Zaya is currently in a home with another dog. They play and get along very well together!
We do not know how she is with cats.
