Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Zara.<br/><br/>Zara is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.<br/><br/>Meet Zara!<br/><br/>Zara is a 3 year old female, pittie mix who was picked up as a stray and taken into a high kill shelter in Houston, TX. Thankfully, a foster stepped up on what was supposed to be Zara's last day to live and we were able to save her! Zara is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and currently weighs 42 pounds. Zara is ready to find her forever family! <br/><br/>Zara is dog friendly and currently lives with another dog in her foster home! She enjoys running and playing with her doggie foster sibling. We would say that Zara has a medium energy level because she loves to play, but also loves to relax and snuggle! Her foster dad describes her as a relaxed and laid back dog. She enjoys playing chase and wrestling with her doggie foster sibling.<br/><br/>Zara is cat friendly and briefly stayed in a foster home with cats while her foster was out of town. She just ignored the cats and went about her business. <br/><br/>Zara LOVES children and lights up when she sees kids. She has been around children ages 3 - 12 years old and is always very gentle and enjoys giving them affectionate licks.<br/><br/>Zara walks great on a leash! Every morning her foster dad takes her to feed the neighborhood ducks breakfast and we have learned that she is duck friendly! She will walk calmly with the ducks as if she's one of them. It's quite comical. <br/><br/>Zara is fully potty trained and crate trained. She does prefer to be allowed to free roam over going in the crate and she's a perfect angel when left out to free roam! <br/><br/>Zara is great about sharing her food, toys and treats with her doggie foster sibling! We have taken Zara to coffee shops, breweries, outdoor restaurants and she is always SO well behaved. She truly is the perfect pup! <br/><br/>Here's a small blurb about Zara from her foster dad:<br/>Zara is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl! She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and truly loves everyone; dogs, cats, kids and even ducks! She loves her toys, but her absolute favorite toy is a ball—she enjoys chasing it. She is gentle, people-oriented, and always happy to be around others! She is perfect at fetch and will bring the ball back to you for you to throw it again. She has a moderate energy level. She enjoys playing with her foster sibling, but also enjoys relaxing on the couch. Zara is incredibly affectionate and is always excited to greet you with a big smile and tail wags when you come home from a long day at work. She loves being close to her people and enjoys pets and cuddles. She is GREAT about meeting strangers, whether it's out on walks or when people come over to the house to visit. Zara is great in the car and just enjoys sitting in the back and looking out the window, taking in the views. Overall, Zara is a loving and sweet girl who would make a fantastic addition to any family! <br/><br/>Lastly, Zara has had seizures in the past, but she is well controlled on seizure medication. She will need to remain on seizure meds for her life.
