Yuma's Story

Meet sweet Yuma!!

Yuma is a 4-6 month old husky mix who has had a pretty isolated, rough, traumatic start. She is now staying at a kennel where she is thriving- playing with dogs, spending time with new volunteers, taking trail walks and loving all things associated with water. She's learning how to be brave, play with toys and is starting to trust humans.

Yuma has a big personality, is very curious and LOVES being around other dogs. The bigger more playful the dog, the better says Yuma. She is very food motivated and is (cautiously) eager to try new things. Yuma hasn't had a lot of human affection in her life, but she is getting less fearful of human touch.

Yuma is looking for an owner that loves the water as much as she does. Boat or river/lake cabin owners - please apply!! Swimming adventures could be a must for this girl. She also needs a family that has some experience with dogs who have faced trauma. Her new home must have at least one dog who will enjoy spending time with her. A fenced in yard would be ideal as well, as Yuma is still very frightened by many things and keeping her safe and secure is pressing. Yuma would do best without young children in the home. Older children would be ok. We are not sure about Yuma and cats, that is still to be determined.

If you want to meet this confident little lady, please reach out!

Harmony Dog Rescue believes in fostering to adopt, so if you think Yuma would be a good fit for you and would like to spend some time with her, please fill out our application below to meet her.

https://form.jotform.com/241044646412146
