Yoshi's Story
PLEASE DON'T CONTACT MASSPAWS

Meet Yoshi! This one-year-old boy is playful, energetic, and very smart!

Yoshi is a 50-pound male bully mix with a long list of favorite activities. He enjoys fetching, running, playing in the backyard, practicing training, indoor playtime, and walks. He’s also a fan of chilling out with loved ones.

Yoshi graduated from puppy dog training and his current family has done lots of work to help him be his best. However, Yoshi is very nervous around new people and other dogs. Before being adopted, he missed out on socialization experiences during his puppy months. Rest assured — this setback does not define him or his potential!

Yoshi couldn't be loved more, but unfortunately he’s unable to overcome ‘stranger danger’ stress in a very busy household with young children. A trainer with a behavior specialty recently evaluated Yoshi. He was receptive to sitting for treats, but was clearly stressed by a newcomer. The poor guy doesn’t know what he should and should not be concerned about in life because he lacks confidence in himself.

With loved ones, Yoshi is a different dog. He is content and calm when the atmosphere is predictable and only the people he knows are with him. We believe in Yoshi and know he can do better and feel better around strangers.

There’s a plan to make this dream a reality! Yoshi will attend a resident board-and-train program in late October. To keep the momentum on track, he really needs his new family to be part of this funded training opportunity. At the same time, you and Yoshi will have a head start for bonding together.

Will you be part of Yoshi’s journey toward healing? His dream home includes:

An adult only, single family home without other pets
Patience and dedication to let Yoshi settle in at his own pace
Dog experience, preferably with bullies or fearful dogs
Work alongside his trainer and keep up with his skills
Calm environment, daily routine, exercise, playtime

Adopting dogs is amazing, but helping an at-risk, fearful dog transform is a joyful and rewarding experience!

This is a home-to-home adoption.
