Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance of Wilmington, DE so our volunteers can conduct an in-person home visit.<br/><br/>Meet Yoda 🐾<br/><br/>Yoda is a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 15 pounds, with a calm presence and an easygoing personality. He’s currently settling into foster life and taking his time to decompress, but he’s already showing what a steady, loyal companion he can be.<br/><br/>Yoda is fully housebroken and keeps things simple—no special medical needs, no medications, and no dietary restrictions. He’s in good health and ready to transition smoothly into his forever home.<br/><br/>He has a medium energy level and enjoys getting out for walks, though he’s still working on polishing his leash skills. Around the house, he’s more on the independent side for now, but he does like to quietly follow his person from room to room, keeping you in sight without being overly demanding.<br/><br/>Yoda gets along well with other dogs and would be perfectly happy in a home with a small dog pack or as a solo companion. He handles stairs without issue, doesn’t mind being picked up, and settles nicely in his own dog bed at night. Senior Dog Haven & Hospice, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
The goal of Senior Dog Haven & Hospice is to find the best home possible for our senior dogs.  To assist us in this endeavor, SDH&H requires a fully completed application, references, and a visit to your home by one of our trained volunteers.  For this reason we only process applications within a reasonable commute from the dog's foster home. Our adoption fee is $200, however we offer a discounted rate of $150 for senior adopters over the age of 65.
