Yanick's Story

Cat Friendly

Let us tell you why the American Pitbull is so popular and makes an ideal family pet!

Pitbulls are loving, goofy, and loyal. They are typically good with children, which is one reason why they are considered a good family pet. Many people love their short hair and the fact that they shed less than many other breeds. They are also smart dogs who catch on to training easily. Most have big, expressive personalities that make them fun adventure buddies.

Yanick is all of this and more! He is a 1-year-old American Pitbull mix who weighs 47 pounds. His foster describes him as a sweet, sensitive, walking comedy show! This guy has a big smile and enjoys giving kisses and receiving affection. He is energetic, which makes him a great dog for an active family. Yanick is deaf and is currently learning to communicate using ASL (American Sign Language). He is very intelligent and has mastered several "good boy" manners.

Knows the ASL signs sit, down, stay, no jumping, leave it, and place. He will also recall with an ASL sign.
House trained
Crate trained
Good with other dogs
Good with cats, chickens, and other dogs
Loves car rides
Good with children- older children might be a better fit due to his exuberant personality!

Yanik continues to work on his leash walking, house manners, and to respect personal space.

Yanik would do well in a home with an adopter who is committed to additional training so he can be the best dog he can be. This goofy dude's adoption fee is $175 and includes his microchip, neuter, vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.

Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org

Pawsitive Tails's Adoption Policy
Pawsitive Tails is dedicated to matching the needs and personality of our dogs with your family. We are not in a hurry to adopt out our dogs; we want to make sure the match is perfect for everyone. All of the dogs in our rescue live in foster homes with both the human and furry members of our families. Our adoption process begins with an application which can be found under the "adopt" tab on our website, www.pawsitivetailskc.org. Please complete the form in full; the questions we ask help us to fully understand what type of dog you are looking for, and to make sure you get the very best fit. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you do not include a vet phone number, a landlord phone number (if applicable), or 3 complete references, we cannot process your application. We will contact your Veterinarian, so please make sure to call them to release your vet history to our volunteer. &nbs
