YAM YAM's Story
Meet Yam Yam If you’ve been holding out for a dog who can melt your heart just by walking into the room, your wait is officially over. Yam Yam is a 4-year-old brindle boy with white socks, soft eyes, and a squishy face that could convince even the most cold-hearted person to drop everything and baby-talk him. He’s equal parts handsome, goofy, and tender—and he knows it. Here’s what life with Yam Yam looks like: Professional Velcro Dog – He loves to sit next to his person, no matter where you are. Couch? Yes. Desk? Absolutely. He’s happiest just being nearby, soaking up the love, and nudging for a few more pets. Gets Along With Other Dogs – Yam Yam enjoys the company of the resident dog in his foster home. They hang out together, sometimes cuddle up, and Yam Yam even lets his foster brother clean his feet (true friendship right there). Bedtime Is Sacred – Couch cuddles? Yam Yam is happy to share. But when the lights go out and it’s time to curl up in bed, that’s his special moment with his person. In his foster home, that means he snoozes peacefully in his crate at night (no fuss at all). In a one-dog household, though, he’d likely be over the moon to snuggle right up in bed with you. Crate Pro – Speaking of crates, he’s fully trained and quiet as a mouse in his. No complaints, no drama. House Manners in Progress – Yam Yam didn’t come to foster care housetrained, but he’s made great strides. With consistency, he’s getting the hang of it and will keep improving in a patient home. Independent Streak – He’s generally fine left alone for a few hours and not the type to chew up your shoes or rearrange your furniture. That said, like most dogs, he does best when he isn’t asked to hold down the fort for marathon stretches. Backyard Explorer – He’s got a nose for squirrels (and the occasional bird). It’s adorable watching him light up in “backyard patrol” mode—but it also means cats or tiny housemates probably won’t appreciate his enthusiasm. Road Trips = Not His Thing – Cars make him a little drooly and dramatic, but he does fine in the back seat as long as the window’s not wide open. (Think: “Are we there yet?” but in dog form.) Did We Mention the Face? – That face. That squishy, puppy-eye, soul-melting face. We dare you to resist it. Yam Yam has been in foster since June, and his foster family is smitten. He’s adorable, funny, and incredibly loving. He just needs a forever home that can give him the love (and bedtime cuddles) he deserves.
