Xavier's Story

Who can resist a puppy's enthusiasm and love of life? We have a story to tell you about a very special puppy whose name is Xavier. There was another dog at a shelter the day we met Xavier. His name was Archer and he was very shy. When he was introduced to Xavier, another personality blossomed. Archer was soon happy and playful. The two dogs romped and played and Archer came out of his shell. Archer and Xavier both joined our Rescue family. Guess what? Archer already has a forever home! Thank you, Xavier. Now it is your turn. As we said, Xavier is a puppy with all the enthusiasm, curiosity, and energy found in puppies. One of our volunteers describes him as "adorable" and that he wants nothing more than to play with all the other dogs whom he meets. Not surprisingly, he also loves people. Are you ready to add a puppy to your family and your life? If so, check out Xavier. We know his personality will win you over just as it did Archer.

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

If you are interested in me, please contact us at puppies@coastalgsrsd.org or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application: http://www.coastalgsrsd.org/webform/1774/adoption-application.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.

Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.

We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Please click on events at Events to see where we'll be next! Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California is a non-profit 501(c%293 public charity dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned German Shepherds.
