Wynnie's Story

UPDATED 1/11/2026! Hi! My name is Wynnie! I'm a super sweet 7-year old female hound mix! I'm such a silly girl! I love to be a goof! I like to touch you with my paw (check out the photo of me doing that!) I love to sleep on the couch! And I really love to cuddle up against someone (like another dog - but I'll be happy to cuddle up against my person!). I walk really well on a leash too! Check me out walking on the leash in my video! I'm so very affectionate & loving! I'm also very playful! I like to play ball! I also love to roll in the grass! I'm great with children - as you can see in one of my photos! I don't realize how tall I am & I can push small children over without meaning to. So I would be fine with children 10 years & older. But if the children are tough & don't mind being pushed over, children 6 & older should be fine! As you can see from my photos, I'm great with other dogs! Before I came to Nittany Beagle Rescue, I lived outside as a hunting dog. But I'd much rather hang out on a couch! I've been living in a foster home since August & I've adjusted great! I'm very smart & I learn quickly! I'm very long legged - sort of like a small gazelle! :) I can reach the kitchen counter & I will get into stuff. I can help you stay motivated to clean out the sink & put the dishes away! LOL I'm housetrained & crate trained. I ride great in a car! I just relax & go to sleep! I weigh about 45 lbs. I'm up-to-date on vaccines & spayed, & so now I'm just need my forever home! Please are you it?? I just can't wait for my forever family to come along! Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
