Wyatt's Story

A060476 Wyatt; neutered Labrador / German Shepherd mix; est. 16 years; 55.40 lbs
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
(209)754-6509
Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

You know when you notice a senior citizen with a sharp mind, youthful attitude, and amazing physical fitness, and you look at them admiringly and think, "Dang, did they find The Potion of Perpetual Youth? I hope I am that awesome when I grow up!" We have the doggo version of that person to introduce to you today. Please meet the extraordinary gentleman, Wyatt.

Wyatt has landed in the shelter because his former owner is in a health crisis and will not be able to care for him. In other words, Wyatt is here through no fault of his own. We certainly send our kindest thoughts out to his former owner. In their honor, we hope that we can find Wyatt a marvelous new home to appreciate and adore him for the rest of his life.

Wyatt is a champion ball player. His focus, his stamina, and his technique are off the charts. He waits with razor focus for the toss, runs off to retrieve the ball, brings it back and drops it directly at your feet, where he stares at it intently waiting for the next go 'round.

Sweet and affectionate, Wyatt is also pleasant on leash. He loves going for walks, especially into the woodsy area on the shelter's back forty.

We aren't sure, but he may be slightly hard of hearing... maybe? However, Wyatt's beautiful brown eyes are bright and full of life and any hearing loss he might have doesn't seem to slow him down.

Wyatt is overall a lovely dog who deserves more years of being cherished in a loving home!

Wyatt is neutered and can go home with you right away.

Though we can't make guarantees of absolute perfection, Wyatt is very housetrained.

We do not have info on his attitude toward cats at this time.

As always, a meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
