Wulfrik - Adopted!'s Story

Wulfrik is a 6 year old 17lb Chaweenie who is on the more submissive side with other dogs after structured introductions. He is housebroken and signals potty time by sitting by the door (so cute!) and is excellent in the crate. He goes in the crate on his own and is perfectly content in there, snuggling up in his bed with a blanket. He also knows the command "sit!"

Wulfrik is confident with new folks and will walk right up to them, but prefers to be pet once he's had a chance to warm up to them, which is pretty quickly. While he was curious about and wanted to sniff the cat in his foster home, overall, he was not interested and had no prey drive. Kids are fine as long as kids have the appropriate dog skills and know how to treat a dog, ie they are not stuffed animals and shouldn't be picked up randomly. So older kids who have dog manners would suit Wulfrik just fine.

If there is nothing going on, Wulfrik is content to chill. On the other hand, if there is something going on, he definitely wants to be involved and will join in on the barking and singing with the rest of the them. His foster home is working on keeping all four paws on the floor during exciting moments and limiting the begging for table food at meal times.

Wulfrik loves squeaky toys and stuffies so much, he will shred them, so it's best to keep an eye on him so he doesn't swallow anything. He prefers gentle pets and snuggle sessions over walks or heavy play sessions and overall is a pretty easy dog who is eager to find his forever family!
