Wrigley's Story

Hi everyone! Allow me to introduce myself—my name is Wrigley, and I’m a fun-loving, playful doodle hoping this holiday season brings me my forever home! Let me tell you a little about myself so you can see if we’re a good match.

I can be a bit fearful of new people at first, so I may need some time to warm up. Please don’t let that shy first impression fool you—once I feel safe and comfortable, my goofy, affectionate personality really shines! All I ask for is patience and understanding, and I promise to give you plenty of love in return.

One of my favorite things in the world is playtime! I love big plush toys (though I sometimes get too excited and may try to dismantle them, so supervision is best). Hard chew bones, however, are my absolute favorite and totally safe to leave me with. I also adore fetch and tug-of-war—basically, if you’re ready to play, I’m ready too!

I enjoy being outside and often get the happiest zoomies when I have space to run. Walks are another favorite activity of mine; I love sniffing around and exploring all the new smells the world has to offer.

I’m looking for a calm, adult-only home where I can be myself and settle in at my own pace. I’ve met and done well with other dogs in the past, but I would likely do best as the only dog in the home, soaking up all your love and attention.

There’s one more important thing I should share—I have something called sleep startle. If I’m woken suddenly from a deep sleep, I can become momentarily confused or frightened. Gentle verbal cues before approaching me help me wake up feeling safe and secure.

If you’re patient, kind, and looking for a loyal companion with a playful heart, I just might be the perfect addition to your home this holiday season. I can’t wait to meet my forever family!

An adopter applies on our website. The application is sent to our application specialist who assigns a volunteer to call vet or personal references. After the reference check, a home visit volunteer will set up a time to visit the home or do a virtual tour of the home to make sure it is appropriate for a dog. Once they complete their visit the report is sent to our adoption team for approval and the potential adopter is then contacted or can contact us to inquire about dogs.
